We made it to SIX MONTHS!
Yes, this may not be a BIG deal for all you mature enough to stay in a relationship for longer than 3 weeks... but for US... Well, this is the longest relationship either of us have been in, and add learning how to be married plus two stubborn not so humble individuals and you might start to get some idea of why we chose to celebrate six months of marriage. Yea for US!
J. decided the best way to celebrate something as awesome as this was to Jump for Joy. He surprised me by taking me to Sky High and dinner... I decided to give him this little gem:
Saw this post to diy this fun little mustache mug (Mustache Mug Tutorial - the Tortoise and the Hare) and decided to put my own little twist on it.
First of all, you need to know I LOVE glasses, goblets, dishes, anything functional that has a little sparkle, and J., (well) he loves drinking out of his mismatched, random mugs... and for some STRANGE reason tends to get upset when I keep washing his glass and putting it away before he is 'done' with it.
(just a fun little habit I picked up from my mother, but she would dump out a perfectly good glass of goodness if we turned our backs... I at least wait til he leaves the room)
Thought this was a fun way to give him HIS own glass, that I won't wash and put away (unless he leaves milk in it, then I'll just have to step in)
Had him select his favorite 'stache:
Traced the mustache on contact paper and cut it out
(this is even more simple if you just draw half of the mustache, fold the contact paper in half and then cut, you can see my fold if you look closely)
Apply the contact stencil to the mug and add a thick layer of Etching, I used Armour Etch -Glass Etching Cream, which you can find at any craft store
5 mins and a good rinse later, you can remove the contact paper & Viola
**Word of caution, make sure the contact paper doesn't fold along the outline or you end up with this
It might not be perfect, but neither am I... Happy Six Months!!!
Next stop ONE YEAR... wish us LUCK!
